Facts about Poverty
1- Poverty is the conditions of being poor. Basic needs can not be met due to a lack of money.
2- One fifth of the world's people live in developed, thriving nations. For example, the United States, Canada, Japan, and most Europeans nations have developed systems and structures that are supported and maintained by their government.
3- Most of the people living in developed nations live in towns and cities.
4- Nations that are still developing, face challenges such as, disease, food shortages, unsafe water, poor education and health care.
5- Absolute measurment of poverty would be the percentage of the population that is eating less food than is required to sustain the human body.
6- 36.6 million people or 12.6 percent of the U.S populations are living in absolute poverty.
7- People need 105.6 billion to move all family incomes up to an acceptable level of living.
8- Poverty rates are highest for African Americans, Hispanics, women, and people under the age of 25.
9- If the government did not assist people financially, 61.5 million people more would be poor.
10-Social insurance including social security and other programs available to families, regardless of income, remove 21 million people from poverty.
11- In 2007, 13.3 million chlidrean, or 17.4 percent were poor.
12- 134 million children between the ages of 7 to 18 have never been to school. Education is important because it teaches people how to get out of poverty and make individuals more likely to be hired for a job.

-To stop Poverty we can have a food drive fundraiser. We can let the kids bring in at least 1 can food and we will give the can foods to the people who needs them. This can help stop Poverty.
-We can organize an Art show to support the cause, Poverty. We can have the art show in the gym where it's enough space. We can show photographs and have some people explain some facts about our cause, why it's important and what people can do to get involved.

I think it's kind of a little bit about racism so it can symbolize everyone is equal and it doesn't matter what is the color of your skin or race.

I wonder...How is the economy going to effect poverty in the United States?
We as a people are very focused on the poverty in other nations - are you aware of the areas in the United States in which people live in poverty?

I think the wrist bands means that the people are working as a group, they are here for each other, they will helped each other.
If there is too many people are poverty the economy of people is going to increase. I think it is not a good thing. I'm so pleased that all of you people are asking me all these questions.
